Wedding Weekend!
May 28, 2014
Justin and I got married!!! It was a little over three weeks ago, and it was the most amazing, emotional, crazy awesome, meaningful, beautiful, we-want-to-do-it-all-again day of our lives. We had an absolutely amazing photographer (Lindsey Johnson), and we cannot wait to get our photos back and share them!
Another one of our favorite parts of this whole wedding process was the wedding week and weekend leading up to it. Every single one of my family members (and a lot of close friends) live out of town, and we were blown away by how many made it here! We cannot express how grateful we are that our out-of-town family and friends, as well as our close friends and family who live right here in CA, were able to be part of this very special time for us. The time, generosity and support from everyone was so touching. Thank you.
I captured a lot of the wedding week with my phone! Some of these photos are a little blurry, but I don't care, I'm sharing them anyway! :)
My mom and sister-in-law Suzy came in a week early to help me with things, mingle with celebs, and bonus! they were also able to come to my shower!
Two of my beautiful and awesome bridesmaids (Jordan and Ursie), along with the help of Mary Jo (Lindsey's mom, and someone who I've known for a very long time, their entire family is very special to me!), put on the sweetest shower. So many friends made it out, we had so much fun!!! :)
This is the impressive spread they put together.
The gifts were super thoughtful. Inside the gift bags there was a nail kit, to remember to never let yourself go, a bookmark, to remember to always grow in knowledge, and a luggage tag, to remember to always travel! :)
The awesome banner that Jordan made.
Me with my mom and Justin's mom, Camilla.
The two lovely ladies that put this together. Thank you!!! You made me feel so special!!!
Having my mom and Suzy out here early was so much fun!!! I so wish my family lived here. Suzy had asked if we could go to this place named "Sur". It's a restaurant on one of her favorite reality shows, Vanderpump Rules, so she wanted to check it out. It turned into such a fun Hollywood night, and I loved it.
When we first went in we saw a bunch of the cast members. At one point I saw my mom giving Suzy the eye, and nodding to someone behind me. I looked and saw it was Robbin Roberts! This is actually a huge deal, since my mom loves her. As in, she calls me all the time and updates me on what Robbin Roberts is doing, what she said on GMA, and how her recovery is going. Then RR sat at a table right next to us! Woo hoo!
Not too much after that, Suzy's favorite Vanderpump Rules star, Jiggy the dog, came right by our table. We snagged the guy holding her (married to the main woman on the show, and who owns the restaurant... I don't actually watch the show, I just feel like I know it from Suzy's breakdown) and got a photo (note: Suzy cut out the guy holding him when she cropped this photo for her Facebook page).
But the best part, was when my mom got a pic with RR!!! RR was getting up to leave, and I was totally on it. My mom was like "Do. Not. ask for her picture", but I knew she'd regret it if she didn't get it. RR was so sweet, and when I stopped her and was like "my mom has coffee with you every morning!" she said she'd be "honored" have her photo taken with her. Yay! My mom was so excited, she texted the photo to everyone she knew.
After our dinner, we headed to the lounge, because we were now an awesome Hollywood crew who took photos with celebs.
Suzy and my mom were so helpful! Suzy stuffed our "Welcome" boxes with tons of goodies, and we all tied up the wedding favors with fabric.
Because we had an amazing wedding coordinator, most things were taken care of, and we hat a lot of time to do some fun stuff! We ate lunch one day at a bakery downtown. These are our desserts (amazing, right?).
Family and friends started coming in Wednesday night. On Thursday a bunch of us went to dinner at StoneHaus. It's an outdoor restaurant in Agoura Hills. We had such gorgeous weather that week!
Mike, Ginger and Suzy.
Josh, me and Justin.
Gram, Gimmy, Karen, Joe on the left, and then Linda, mom and dad on the right.
Lindsey (with the help of her mom, Mary Jo!) put together the best personal shower the Friday before the wedding!!! It was so much fun, and we were all dying over how cute everything was. It was at Malibu Wines (which is the best), and Lindsey had put together these adorable lunch bags for all of us, matching napkins, straws and forks included. Not to mention chicken salad sandwiches that we're now addicted to (Trader Joe's + Lindsey = success).
I seriously had the best bridal party that was ever had. Ursie, Suzy, me, Ginger, Amy, Lindz and Jordan.
And these special ladies, Linda, Gram, me, mom, Karen and Amy.
My Maids of Honor, Ginger and Lindz.
And because we're awesome.
We had a bridal luncheon on Saturday. It was so great to have time with all of these special ladies. My mom, gram, second moms, bridesmaids, cousins, aunts... and it was a gorgeous day! :)
Here we are at Malibu Cafe. Jordan, Rebekah, Vickie, Lindz, Me, Bev, Suzy, Karen, Ginger, mom, Linda, Gram and Amy. Camilla and Ursie came a bit later.
All of us!
The bridesmaids. Minus Ursie.
I loved my dress! My parents got it for me! Yay Anthropologie!
Our rehearsal dinner was at The Old Place. It's a unique, rustic little place in Agoura Hills, right next to Malibu. There were even two guys going table to table taking requests!
Thank you again to all of the friends and family that made it out, and spent so much time showering us with love! You made us feel absolutely special and it was the best way to start our new lives together. We will never ever forget it!!! :)
