Today we went to the Palace of Holyrood (pronounced Holly-rude), which is the Queen of England's vacation home in Scotland. Being built over 500 years ago it's obviously filled with history.

Over the past few days I've also learned that back then people would have done anything for the throne. There are stories of royalty killing everyone from their rivals to their own children.  In one of the rooms in this palace, a "heavily pregnant" Mary Queen of Scots had her "private secretary" taken away by her second husband and stabbed to death in an adjoining room.

This is what remains of a 12th century Abbey connected to Holyrood.

This is something we've seen from afar the entire time we've been here. Justin keeps saying it looks like it's right out of a sci-fi movie. We saw it up close today. It's a monument to Sir Walter Scott and it even has some viewing decks up pretty high.

After our trip to Holyrood we walked up the Royal Mile. We are getting the begining of colds, or at least I am, so I went into a store to get some medicine. While there I found something amazing. A Cadbury Egg in candy bar form, not on Easter!!! Bring it to the states!!!
