I went back to Michigan this weekend to stand up in one of my closest friend's wedding. The weekend flew by! As part of our bride's maid gift Amy took us to get manicures and pedicures on Friday morning. It was so nice! I haven't done that in forever and I now secretly want to budget that into my monthly spending...but probably won't... for now...
That night after the rehearsal we all had dinner at Champps. It was so nice to hang out with all of the bride's maids! I've been friends with Amy forever, but I moved to Abilene, TX right after high school and then Los Angeles after that, so I hadn't really had a chance to meet the people she's been friends with over the past eight years. But they were so nice and funny and great to hang out with and I felt like I had known them forever!

The next morning started off with all of us getting our hair done (which, randomly my stylist was someone we went to high school with), and then we all went back to Amy's dad's house to make ourselves look hot.
Heather (Amy's sister/Matron of Honor) helped Amy put her dress on.

This is Amy's dad seeing her for the first time! It was really sweet.
Even though Amy was the bride, it didn't stop us from forcing her to fix all of our dresses. Below is Amy and Jerika.
Possibly the best part of the evening (besides the chocolate fountain that was at the reception), was the limo/van-bus (below) that carted us around town. We took it from Amy's dad's to the church, from the church to various places for pictures, and from there to the reception. We were told, very gruffly, that we were not allowed to have food on the bus, but Karen and I were so hungry that the "no food" rules did not apply, and we opened up a bag of pretzels under a blanket and then pretended to cough or scratch our face as we quickly put one pretzel in our mouths at a time. It worked out pretty nicely.

Abi, Karen & JerikaAmy has two adorable nieces!!! This is Brook, Heather's daughter. She is so cute!!! When I got into MI I went around with Heather and Amy to finish up last minute wedding details and Brook went with us as well. She is such a good baby and so adorable!
I loved Amy's dress. The back was gorgeous, it had buttons from top to bottom. Amy and myself (above) , and Karen and Jerika (below)
Here is the other equally adorable niece, Olivia, with her grandpa, dad (Amy's brother Jeff) and Amy.
After the ceremony we hopped back on the limo-bus-van and headed to a park (where there were like, ten other wedding parties as well) to take photos. Above is Karen, myself and Jenni (Amy's sister-in-law)Amy and Jeff!
Here is Heather bustling Amy's dress before the reception. The reception was so much fun. It went well past midnight and they even had a midnight snack of pizza and White Castle hamburgers!

Jeff, like my dad, went to MSU and loves the green and white! So the groom's cake was the Spartan "S". Amy's cake was beautiful, very simple with some rose petals. And, my favorite part of the evening, the chocolate fountain.

Here is their first dance, followed by the father/daughter dance.

Here's my family with Amy. We consider Amy family so I was so glad I was able to fly back to be part of the wedding.

  1. Emily...I think I figured out our problem!! When I went in to create a post, the Edit HTML tag was highlighted instead of the Compose tag. When I clicked on the Compose tag, my formatting bar came back. Try that and see if it works!
