Aside from being uncomfortable, going to the dentist can also be boring. The dentist I went to growing up had only one room for cleaning. You sit in this chair and you look at the wall, and on that wall was this huge painting. It was of a busy street in a French looking city, people buying bread, bustling around town, that sort of thing. And I remember thinking, "okay, I'm going to take my time and check out this whole painting", and that took about ten seconds. So what was I supposed to do for the rest of the time? I mean, I could try to answer the questions the dentist is asking me but her hands, a suction tube and a metal sharp tool is in my mouth, so. I would always think "if they had a TV this would be great!" Well, great for being at the dentist. Anyway, I went to the dentist yesterday and they had a TV! At my chair! And I had a remote!!! It was so cool! It was everything I dreamed it to be. Also, this dentist offered to skip flossing and let me do it (at home). Thank you! How painful is it when someone else flosses your teeth? Ugh! It's the scariest thing, they come at you with this string and they're never gentle. TV and no stranger flossing my teeth, yay!

  1. I have to say, I absolutely LOVE the dentist. Instead of staring at pictures, I close my eyes and sink into the seat, enjoying it all - even the flossing.
