Sigh. So, I was reading online and everything started shaking. The blinds are swaying and sure enough, it was an earthquake. For those of you who don't live in CA, or have never been in an earthquake, do not let the media fool you. Yes, there are those 9. something earthquakes that bring cities to their knees, people are injured or killed, and civilizations are set back decades, and that's really sad and tragic. BUT, for the most part, it's a little shake. You probably experience more shaking going over a few pot holes in your car.

What I find so annoying is that the news stations love it. They love it. The anchors get all giddy at the fact that they get to deliver this "real" news (that, ironically, everyone already knows). They start to talk weird, too. I have the news on, and the one anchor was referring to the most recent earthquake, and said that it was in MexiC-ah-li (which must be a fancier MexiCali).

There are two things they do when they break into your TV program. 1) Tell you how it affected them "wow! There are a few lights shaking! I felt a jolt, and then a shake!". 2) Take calls! I have the news on right now, and from the way they were talking,  you'd think the woman was providing ground breaking earthquake info. It's like when people tell their stories on Jeopardy, when they think it's really interesting, but it's insanely boring:

Anchor: Tell us how the earthquake was for you.
Caller: Well, I felt shaking. My chair was shaking.
A: Did anything fall off your shelves?
C: No, no, but I felt my chair shake, and then I was shaking, and then I yelled up to my husband "did you feel that?" and he was like "yeah!"
A: Wow, wow. So, is everyone okay?
C: Oh yeah, just shaken up from all the shaking. Yeah, we were here, and then we felt shaking.
A: Wow. Well thanks so much "caller". We're glad you're okay.

Okay? I hope you're okay! If you can't handle a little shaking, I want to know how you get through a normal day. Also, shaking? I mean, if an earthquake is anything it's shaking. Anyway. I'm very grateful that it wasn't a scary 9. something, but come on people, move on! If the only thing you have to say is "I was typing and then I felt everything shake for like five seconds and then it stopped. Thank goodness!" then I don't want to hear it.
