Beverly Hills "Affaire in the Gardens"
May 16, 2010Every couple of months Beverly Hills hosts a "Affaire in the Gardens Art Show". It's basically three blocks of art work from local artists. It's a bunch of white tents set up on the lawn and, along with the local art for purchase, there's a mix of food tents/trucks to choose from and live music.
There were three artists that caught my eye; Kimo Easterwood, Gabe Leonard and Mark Verrillo. Easterwood had some really unique stuff, all layered with great text and images. Leonard's work is really cool, we had seen him at the last art walk and he really stuck out. He does paintings of different genres like Western, Mobster, Classic Hollywood, etc. I would definitely put up his artwork in my place. And then Verillo. I'm sad because Verillo was my favorite, but I cannot find his work online anywhere! I found that he has a graphic design business and a Facebook page, but nothing promoting his art. Well, if I run across it I'll post it, but it was mainly different color splotches on white wooden canvases. Very cool.
Among the food choices was the Grilled Cheese Truck. I got the Brie Melt and Justin got the Havarti Special, by which he was not that impressed. Well I loved mine and you can't please everyone. Also, I wanted to call attention to my earrings. I got them from my grandma and I think they are just gorgeous. She really has the best earring taste! Oh, and regarding the "Salty Caramel" cupcake from Sprinkles from my last post. I had it yesterday for breakfast, and then the one I bought for Justin last night, it's really good. The sweet and the salty is amazing, I highly suggest you try one, they're only here till May 23rd!
